Fixed Error in Documents Register
If an existing Document details are in the process of being edited, and during this a new doument is created and subsequently filed an error occurs because 2 documents are effectively being edited at once. This issue has been rectified and both the existing doument and the newly created one will be changed/added.
Fixed issue in Income Tax Computation
The Income tax computation was using 'Total Income' rather than 'Adjusted Net Income' to calculate personal allowances. This affected computations where the Total Income was in the 60% marginal rate band (£100,000 - £112,950) but the 'Adjusted Net Income' was lower due to pension contributions or other deductions.
Fixed issue in Profile Report
In the detailed Profile report expenditure section, pension contributions were incorrectly appearing as a negative number. This has been fixed.
Fixed issue with Global Data Download
When attempting to download the latest Global Data from Head Office, the process may stop and the download file is not created correctly. This has now been resolved.
Fixed missing Excel output for Group Pensions
The Scheme Members Report was failing to produce Excel format output. This has been fixed.

Fixed Error in Documents Register
Documents Register was encountering a "Duplicate Data" error when creating new documents. This was introduced in version 20.000.07, and is now resolved.
Fixed Error in Tax Computations
If a Client or Partner had no Income Sources an error would occur when doing tax computations. This has been resolved.

Fixed Error in Reports
Under very specific scenarios the following error may occur when running reports on business clients: "Invalid Use of Null". This has now been resolved for all reported cases.
Fixed Error in Commission Screen
Under certain scenarios, the following error may occur in the Commission screen: "JCS can't move the focus to the control Commision Contribution". This has now been resolved.
Fixed Error in Documents Register
When creating or editing documents in Documents Register, the following error may occur: 'You made an illegal function call'. This has now been resolved.
Fixed Error in Pension Schemes
When viewing an administered pension record in Financial Planning, the following error may occur, "Object variable or With block variable not set". This may happen when the pension scheme type has not been set. This has now been resolved.
Fixed Error in Planning For Retirement
Generating a Planning for Retirement calculation when no retirement date has been specified may result in an "Invalid use of Null" error. This has now been resolved.
Fixed Issue in Discontinued Plans Register
Attempting to add a new policy to the discontinued plans register for a client, may result in the policy details not being saved correctly to the register. This has now been resolved.
Modified 'Own Business Shares'
When Own Business Shares are entered into the Property and Other Assets page, income generated is now correctly treated as a Dividend receipt. This is preferable to entering Own Business Shares in the Portfolio section as Equities where the shares are not publically traded and therefore putting a value on them is difficult.

Fixed Error When Filling in Date Fields
When inputting date fields, if a user accidently pastes a large amount of data into a date field, an overflow error will occur. This has now been handled correctly.

If the additional details setup has a single field that is full width, the following error may occur: "The control or subform is too large for this location". This has now been resolved.

Fixed Error when requesting help via F1
In certain conditions, the following error may occur when requesting help via the F1 key: 'The expression you entered requires the control to be in the active window.' This has now been resolved.
Fixed error with calculator
When JCS tries to open the calculator program, it was crashing when the calculator program file could not be found. This error is now handled gracefully.
Fixed Error With Fact Find Pages
When cycling through the Fact Find Pages using the PageUp and PageDown keys the order of the pages are different than when using the toolbar buttons. This has now been resolved.
Fixed Issue in Upload/Download
Deleting Professional Contacts in an Upload/Download scenario could lead to the following error: "The Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object ' Admin - Professional Contacts'". This has been resolved.
Improved Error Handling
The Error Handling in JCS has been updated and improved and will not trigger as many error reports.
Updated Integration with Microsoft Word
The integration with Microsoft Word was generating many errors. This area of JCS has been significantly updated which will eliminate most errors and allow for better identification of any that remain.

Can't Find the Form 'LookupPostCode'
This error was previously seen when performing a postcode lookup whilst the user preference for displaying tooltips is turned off.

When entering a very long policy number into a mortgage policy, the following error may occur, "The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add.". This has now been rectified.

If a Policy had a Fund History record with a value of units Purchased/Sold but a blank number of units, an RTV/Data Import which updated Fund History records would fail with the error 'Invalid Use of Null'. This has now been fixed.

When deleting the contents of the sort code field the following error may appear "Syntax error (missing operator) in expression". This has been resolved.

Fixed Issue when creating new document
When creating a new document in Documents Register, the following error may occur: 'The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time'. This has now been resolved.
Fixed Issue when installing on Terminal Services
When installing on Server 2003 with Terminal Services, the install would fail to copy the required files to the user profiles unless Adviser Lifestyle is selected during the install process. This has now been updated to allow Adviser Essential only to be installed.
Issue in Fact Find Notes
When saving a note in Fact Find Notes, the following error may occur: "No Current Record". This has now been resolved.
Profile Report Retirement Planning improvements
Previously the Retirement section of the Profile Report would be excluded if the Client or Partner was in their final year prior to retirement. This has been modified to allow the section to be reported right up to the date of retirement.

When upgrading to the next release on a 64 bit system, the database runtimes and service packs were not being detecting, and so the installer tried to download and reinstall them again. This has now been resolved.

Fixed error installing when C:\ drive not present
When attempting to install Adviser Essential onto a machine with no C:\ drive, the database runtime would not install correctly, and thus not allow the main application to install. This has now been fixed.
Fixed Error When Performing an Application Repair
When attempting to repair an installation from Add/Remove Programs, the following error occurred: "/DemoData not found". The repair process is now working as expected.

Fixed Issue with Inconsistent Colours
On the Fact Find Expenditure and Income screens, some of the fields were displaying inconsistent colours. This has now been rectified.

When viewing a print preview of reports, some of the buttons on the menubar were shown as disabled, not allowing the ability to zoom in and out. This has now been rectified.

Many dialog boxes in JCS were showing strange square characters. This was introduced in version 19.100.07 and has now been rectified.

When sending out a document to a mailing list in version 19.100.07, the following error occurred "The control or subform control is too large". This has now been rectified.

Fixed Error in Documents Register
Opening an document created from an old location, could the error "Internal Error" when loading the document, and the JCS toolbar does then not work in Word. This has now been resolved.
Fixed Error in Expenditure page
Loading the expenditure page for a client that has a mortgage with an unknown payment frequency was causing an error to occur. This has now been resolved.
Fixed Error in Postcode Lookup
Attempting to perform a postcode lookup whilst the Timer is active, caused an error to occur. This has now been resolved.
Fixed Issue Deleting Existing Fund Maps
When viewing data mapping using the "Funds" view, deleting a mapping had no effect. This was introduced in version 19.012 and has been rectified.
Fixed Unable to Register ChartFX Error on Startup
When running on Windows Vista or newer, JCS would startup with an error stating "Unable to Register ChartFX.ClientServer.Core.dll". This has now been resolved.

Some records in a particular state can cause an application error "Syntax error in date" to be displayed when opening up the Needs Analysis -> Planning For Retirement page. This has now been rectified.

Generating a profile report in mono could lead to an error depending on the sections selected to be output. This error has now been resolved
Fixed Error with Axa Contract Enquiry
Funds that shared a fund code for initial and accumulation units, were producing a gross error checksum in JCS due to the fundcodes not being unique. The mapping process has now been updated to handle this scenario
Fixed Error with Scottish Widows bulk download
Bulk downloads from Scottish Widows were encountering a "Subscript out of range" error. This was introduced in version 19.011 and has been rectified.
Fixed issue in Assets Page
Values entered on the main assets page, rather than the details page were being locked next time the assets page is opened. This has been rectified.
Fixed issue in Client Lookup
Looking up a client by client number, then cancelling the client selection can leave the currently selected client in an unstable state. This has now been rectified.
Fixed issue in Planning for Retirement
In Planning for Retirement, the field "Highest Tax Rate" would not save any modified value if a Profile Report had been created for the client in the past that had calculated Income Tax and NI contributions.

When inputting data into a User defined Date field the Calendar popup and smart date inputting functions were not working.

Some clients may have been experiencing issues with Aviva RTV valuations, with the error "Unable to find Currency Mapping Record". This has now been resolved.
Fixed Issue with Parmenion Bulk Imports
Some bulk imports from Parmenion were correctly updating all fund details but the policy value viewed in Portfolio Summary was incorrect. Opening the policy details would correctly calculate the policy value. This issue has now been resolved.
Fixed issue with Royal Skandia bulk upload
A change in the format of bulk files from Royal Skandia meant that JCS could not detect what type of file it was. This has now been rectified to detect both the old and new versions of file from Royal Skandia
Fixed issue with Zurich Contract Enquiry
Some funds were being ignored during the valuation if there was a fund breakdown split of Protected Rights and Non Protected Rights

Fixed Issue in Diary Reminders
When a user is set to view only clients of an adviser, the list of diary reminders was not being restricted to the currently selected client. This has now been rectified.
Fixed issue in Profile Report Income Tax section
The profile report when calculating Interest and Dividends in the Income Tax and NI Contributions, was not taking into account manually entered values from Fact Find - Current Income for the partner, if the client had any administered records generating interest. This has been updated to reflect all values that are visible in the Fact Find - Current Income page for client, partner and joint values, whether they are administered or manual entries.
Fixed issue on Case Screens
When the Provider Name was updated on Case Screens, a warning message appeared asking if the user wished to update related records. If 'Yes' was selected the Provider name was updated for all fund holdings within that case. Whilst this is appropriate for some product types, it is not suitable for all. The message has been updated to make the situation clearer so the user better understands what will be updated.
Fixed issue with blank Business Fact Fact
When printing a Blank Business Fact Find Questionnaire, some fields were pre-filled with erroneous data. This has now been fixed.
Fixed issue with help file from Word
When clicking on the help button on the JCS toolbar in MS Word, the error "This file is not a windows help file" may appear. This has been resolved.
Fixed issue with orphaned policy records
Deleting policies from JCS may sometimes leave uneeded data which will needlessly take up storage space. The deletion routines have been rewritten to ensure all data is deleted.
Fixed issue with Royal Skandia bulk upload
Importing a bulk upload from Royal Skandia could not detect the fund details for unit trusts. This is now fixed.
Fixed tabbing problem in Fund Management
Tabbing through the records in Fund Management - Update Fund Prices would move to the next record rather than move to the initial units fields.

Fixed bug in Import Logging
When Import functionality is used (Contract enquiry/RTV) a log is produced which allows transactions imported to be rolled back if required. A bug in the logging prevented rollback from taking place in some circumstances.
Fixed bug in Royal Skandia bulk import
When importing a bulk xml file from Royal Skandia, the following error could occur "Expression on click error". This was caused by control characters in the xml file. This has now been handled correctly.
Fixed issue in Suspended Commission Receipts
When attempting to post suspended commission receipts, the commencement date was not being populated correctly. This has now been rectified.
Fixed issue with JCS crashing in Data Import
Certain actions with the mouse during the mapping process could lead to JCS crashing unexpectedly. This has now been resolved.
Fixed issue with portfolio report
When valuing funds for all clients before creating a portfolio report, some fund values did not appear on the portfolio report. This has now been resolved.
Fixed issue with Reports not detecting printers.
Opening the Reports screen would give the error "No Printers Installed!" if there are old printers installed that cannot be contacted anymore, even if there are valid printers installed as well. This has now been fixed.
Improved the functionality of RTV all
The RTV all function (which is accessed from the Portfolio Summary page) will now attempt a valuation using the most appropriate External Connection even when there is more than one suitable connection. Previously in this circumstance no attempt to obtain a valuation was made.

Fixed Issue Detecting Installed Printers
In some circumstances JCS was incorrectly not detecting any installed printers. This caused issues opening the main reports window. This has now been changed to be more reliable in these situations.
Fixed Issue in Commission Received
When modifying the Comission Statement Date in the "Enter Commission Received" Page, an error occurs whilst typing. This was an issue introduced in version 19.010 6 August 2009 and has now been fixed.
Fixed Problem with Friends Provident RTV
Real Time Valuations for Friends Provident stopped working due to a change in the message format. This has been rectified. Users must open and close the 'External Connections' window in order for changes to take effect.

Date Input Update
When entering dates, it is now possible to type in numbers only, the correct date separator will automatically be added during typing based on the local regional settings.

Date Field Input Masks
Date input fields can now handle any date format recognised by the local computer regional settings, eliminating the error "The value you entered isn't appropriate for the input mask specified for this field". Date formatting is now brought in line with other Windows programs.

The file copy of record report for a group life scheme was displaying the death benefit salary multiplier as a rounded figure, therefore losing accuracy. The actual benefit amount was still being calculated correctly.

Three input fields were occasionally not showing when the “Occupational Defined Benefit” scheme type was selected. This has now been fixed.

In Planning for Retirement, extra contributions were not taken in account when calculating future fund values. This bug was introduced in version 18.107
Fixed bug on Identity Verification page
The Identity Verification section of a fact find print for a personal client could cause the issue date for a UK/EU driving licence to be copied into the expiry date field for a passport under certain circumstances. This has been fixed.

The error "Item not found in this collection" may occur in Planning for Retirement as it calculates particular income tax details. This has been rectified.
Fixed Error in Standard Documents Maintenance
The error "Syntax error (missing operator)" was occurring in Standard Documents Maintenance when filtering the list by document number. This has now been fixed.
Fixed formatting bug in Portfolio Report
The totals section in Portfolio Summary Report now have a consistent numerical rounding format across all fund types.

An error was occuring in Fact Find Pension schemes when clicking on the Product Charges button if no pension scheme is selected/entered.

JCS crashes when creating a Portfolio Report grouped by Provider with no Annualised Growth Estimates. This was introduced in 19.001 2nd June 2009, and has now been rectified.
Fixed issue in Portfolio Report
If the portfolio report has been configured to use customised notes, and the notes are very long the portfolio report may not get generated. This may also occur if the custom notes themselves are not too long, but the Annualised Growth Estimates option is ticked, which adds some extra notes. The limits on the size of the custom notes is now only limited by the size of the page.
Fixed issue in portfolio reports
If a clients total funds value for a portfolio type was negative for any reason, this respective line would be excluded from the summary totals page. This has now been updated.
Fixed problem with AXA Contract Enquiry
Real Time Valuations for AXA Sunlife stopped working due to a change in the message format. This has been rectified. Users must open and close the 'External Connections' window in order for changes to take effect.
Transfers not being included in Growth Calulations
Transfers into a Pension after the Vesting date had passed were not being included in growth rate calculations. These are now included.
Updated Investment Funds
The Investment Funds page now allows you to manually update the Fund Value as well as the Initial Units Value and Accumulation Units Value. The logic of this works has been reworked to make it more intuitive to the user.

Bug in Selestia RTV for unmapped cases
If an RTV was attempted using Selestia on a case which had not previously been mapped, the RTV would always fail. When trying to value a single previously unmapped case JCS uses the Policy Number it has on record to attempt RTV, in the case of Selestia this Policy Number was not being properly identified and so no match would ever be found. Normal Selestia Bulk and RTV messages were unaffected.
Disbursements Report displays wrong date
The Disbursements report was displaying the 'Transaction Payment Date' as opposed to the 'Commission Receipt Cut Off'. This has been fixed

Fixed Bug in Final Salary Maximum Benefits
In What If, and Profile Reporting, if a Defined Benefit pension was set up with the same Accrual Rate for Standard Pension and for Reduced Pension, the Maximum Reduced Pension would be restricted to 75% of the Pre-Commutation Pension. This was due to the fact that an infinite value for the Pension Commutation Factor is implied by these settings. The code has been revised to remove the check for Maximum Reduced Pension in all circumstances.

Fix problem in Maintenance Program
On 10 April 2008 Microsoft released a Cumulative Update for Internet Explorer 7 (KB947864) which broke the Automated download facility in the JCS Database Maintenance Program. As a result users who have applied this Microsoft update must download version 18.000 16 April 2008 (or later) of JCS using the Non-Auto Update facility which includes a revised version of the Database Maintenance program re-enabling automatic download for future releases.
